Holland is a cycle tourist's dream.

The bicycle is as much a part of Holland as the tulip, the windmill and the clog. Children learn how to cycle before they can walk and a pensioner doing the shopping by bicycle is no uncommon sight. Even the Queen herself has been seen on her bicycle. The 16 million inhabitants of the Netherlands own 15 million bicycles. The country's infrastructure has been adapted to the use of the bicycle. There is a network of cycle paths of 20,000 kilometres!, with cycle bridges, cycle tunnels and cycle ferries.Besides there are the windmills, dunes, dikes, woods and beaches. But there is more .... rivers, lakes, canals, the 'IJsselmeer' and the 'Waddenzee'.
